Who are the Tehuelches?

Tehuelches were natives of the Southern end of the Patagonia. They were known as “giants of Patagonia” since reports from the early 1800’s describe them as being of an average of 6 feet and 7 inches tall.

They didn’t raise alpacas but did work with one of its relatives, the Guanaco.

Tehuelches were also known for some of their particular design patterns. The design that is incorporated into our logo is one that they would paint on the guanaco hides they used for cloaks.
